Extraordinary App

The Extraordinary app is created for the attendees of the 2024 Extraordinary College event in order to facilitate networking during the event. The app also integrates functionalities of an NFC device (“HyperRing”). The main functions of the app are (1) registration and login using the HyperRing hardware device, (2) catalogue consisting of the contact info of the attendees, (3) NFC functionality (“scan” function) that allows the other users to share their contact info seamlessly via a tap of the HyperRing. For privacy reasons, the user of the app are limited to the attendees of the event; these users may sign up for the app using their pre-registered emails. The user journey is as follows. After downloading from the App Store or Google Play, users are greeted with an "Open Screen" that outlines necessary permissions and terms of service. They then proceed through the registration process, which involves NFC pairing by scanning the HyperRing, email input, and OTP verification in the case that the ring is lost or unavailable. Upon successful registration, users are directed to the "Main Catalog" to view profiles, connect with others, and manage their information.

Users can log in using NFC authentication by scanning the HyperRing or through OTP if the ring is lost or unavailable. The "Main Catalog" provides access to community profiles, while the settings menu allows for privacy and security adjustments. The app also supports contact exchange through scanning and facilitates various community interactions.
